Guitar lessons at United Conservatory of Music Fresno prepare students to achieve technical proficiency and musical excellence. Our curriculum emphasizes balanced posture, beautiful tone production, musicianship skills, and leads students through a sequential body of repertoire.
Our guitar teachers teach rock, blues, metal, country and classical guitar lessons on electric and acoustic guitars.
Beginner guitar and ukulele students can expect to work on chords, simple songs and melodies, sight reading and theory. We balance musicianship and fun by making sure that each lesson you are challenged with a new technical or theory concept, but always end with something fun such as your favorite riff or song. We use a variety of guitar method books to accomplish this and encourage students to bring their favorite tunes to the lesson to learn from their teachers!
Our Guitar Instructors are very skilled and hold either, bachelor or masters degrees in music. Our teachers implement various methods in their teaching style such as Alfred's Method Books, and the traditional conservatory style which incorporates scales, etudes, sight reading, and appropriate repertoire based on the student's level and theory. In addition to weekly lessons, many of UCM's students participate in our Chamber Music and Group Lesson program. The benefits are immense for growth and is a very enjoyable experience.

That question is often asked by prospective guitar students. Our guitar teachers make it a priority to get to know you on a personal level and to become familiar with your personal musical needs and goals.
We do not treat every guitar student the same in terms of what and how we teach.
A seven year old kid having their first guitar lesson will have very different needs than a fifty seven year old adults taking up guitar for the 2nd time after having had lessons as a child.
The main reason to choose the Conservatory as your guitar lesson provider, is that we are sensitive to the fact that every guitar student is an individual.
If you enroll here for guitar lessons, we will work with you to make a plan that will fit your needs and musical preferences. At the first lesson your guitar teacher will ask you about your favorite type of music, and set goals to help accomplish whatever musical aspirations you have for yourself or your child.

Our music teachers are dedicated in learning about your personal musical goals and helping you to achieve them. We have over 30 music teachers, all with University or Conservatory training in prestigious music schools around the country. Our teachers have received their education from prestigious institutions such as San Francisco Conservatory, Univeristy of Oregon, Carnegie Mellon University, California State Univeristy Fresno, California State Univeristy Long Beach, Fresno Pacific University, Univeristy of San Francisco, and Savannah State University. With several music teachers for almost every instrument, we are confident that we have the right teacher to meet your music lesson needs. Many of our instructors have gone on performance tours of the US and Europe and have over 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. In addition to their teaching credentials, our teachers have warm personalities, are extremely friendly and strive to get to know each student and their parent on a personal level.
GUITAR LESSON RATES
$40 per 30 minute private lesson held once a week.
There is a yearly registration fee once of $30
