UCM String Ensemble

Is your child not having motivation to practice, and wanting to quit? Well, we have the solution for you. If your child plays VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO, and BASS, here at United Conservatory of Music we have string ensemble for them!

Our goal is to have wonderful musicians come together and play wonderful music together. Every three month of our program, we are going to have a concert to showcase the hard work these students have done. We also have our wonderful string teachers here at United Conservatory of Music to help us out. Our teachers are at the highest level of playing and have many years of experience playing in an orchestra. They are very fun teachers and love to work with kids from different ages and levels.

Joining an orchestra will help students with intonations, rhythms, postures, the etiquette of being in an orchestra, improve their social skills, learn teamwork, develop a sense of responsibility, improve cognitive skills, and increase enjoyment in their instrument. We hope that this orchestra will help make connections with other musicians across the valley.

 

Entry/Elementary Level

String Ensemble consists of music that is very easy and very fun to play. This orchestra is for students that are playing in a string ensemble for the first time or have already played in a string ensemble before but are still having trouble.

Starts on August 13

Every Friday from 5pm-6pm.

 

Intermediate/Advance Level

String Ensemble B is a very fast paced orchestra. We expect students' reading, rhythm, and playing skill should be at an excellent level. 

String Ensemble B starts on August 13

Every Friday from 6pm-7:30pm.

 

Audition Requirements

Must play the following instrument: VIOLIN, VIOLA, CELLO, and BASS.

  1. 1 Scale of your choice

  2. 1 Repertoire of your choice

  3. Sighting Reading

If you are still unsure, we highly recommend that you talk to your private lesson teacher or call our front office staff.

You do NOT need to be a part of the United Conservatory of Music to join this orchestra. 

Covid Procedures

We are going to allow a certain amount of students to come in person into our concert hall at UCM. This building is big enough to have a good amount of students to come in person and be able to keep a safe distance from each other. It is first come first serve so reserve your seats now!

Students that are planning to come in person have the option to wear a mask.
